Building Student Confidence
The role of the trainer is to build confidence in students. That is what the trainer should be constantly aiming at during the delivery of a course. A student that feels confident in his or her abilities would be a successful student and a fast learner.
This directive would mean that the instructor should not try at any point in time to use words or indications to students that they are incompetent or slow learners. This would make things even more difficult for them and hinder the learning process. If a student asks a dumb question or asks a question that has already been answered, just pretend that there is nothing wrong and re-answer the question as if it was asked for the first time. Never indicate with body language or with tone of voice during answering that question that it is a dumb question. Pretend that it is a normal question and give the answer as if you were saying it freshly for the first time.
